The aim of this finishing work on the access path to the "Pozetto" gallery is to ensure that the entire route is attractive and safe for visitors to the mining site. You will be responsible for assembling and installing safety barriers and a chestnut plessis screen attached to a row of vertical posts anchored in the rock. You will work 4 days a week, from 8.30am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.
You will be accommodated in rooms of 4 to 6 people with sanitary facilities. Meals will be prepared by the volunteer team with the help of the campleader. You will help to tidy up the dining room, the dishes, and the kitchen.
Tende, located 2 hours from Nice (by train). The site is isolated in the mountains (1500m altitude), 10km from the village of Tende and 50km from Ventimiglia (Italy).
In addition to weekends, one day in the middle of each week will be devoted to discovery and entertainment activities. You will discover the mountain environment (fauna, flora, hiking on the archaeological site of the Vallée des Merveilles in the Mercantour National Park) and the historical and cultural heritage of the region (visit of the medieval villages of the Roya valley). You can also do sports activities (tree climbing, via-ferrata)
Neige & Merveilles welcomes you in the heart of the Mercantour National Park at an altitude of 1500 m to work in the Vallauria mine which is part of the archaeological, historical, cultural and scientific heritage of the region (Alpes-Maritimes). This silver lead and zinc mine justifies the mining archaeology studies and the safeguarding and development work that we have been carrying out with the municipality of Tende for the last ten years. Its medieval part represents an exceptional geological heritage, inseparable from that represented by the Mercantour Park and the archaeological wealth of the mythical Vallée des Merveilles, a site soon to be classified as a UNESCO site, located two hours away.
