Supervised by two technical advisors specialising in masonry, you will work on the restoration of a large barn on the Echoisy estate. Initially, you will have to de-segregate the building. Then you will have to carry out masonry and stone cutting using traditional techniques which will allow you to familiarise yourself with these techniques. You will work on average between 5 and 6 hours a day in the morning.
You will sleep in tents for 2 people, with all facilities (sanitary facilities, kitchens, common room etc.) You must bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Bicycles are available. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The members of the community and you will prepare the meals (hot and cold food as well as vegetarian and vegan food will be prepared).

Leisure activities: At the crossroads of some pretty little villages in the Charente, you can take full advantage of the local heritage. Visits to the region will be organised collectively according to your wishes, for example the Jean-Pierre Lanson floral park or the Bayers castle. You will be able to discover towns in the area such as Tusson, Verteuil (both classified as villages and towns of character) etc. Leisure time and local activities will encourage you to meet the inhabitants!
The Échoisy estate is inhabited by a thousand years of history. It is built on a rocky dome on the banks of the Charente, This estate now houses intermingled buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. For a year now, a group of citizens has been trying to save this place.
By settling on this estate, which remained unoccupied for 20 years, they have undertaken a huge work of reconstruction. This summer, they propose to work on saving a large central barn where the cognac barrels were stored, which will eventually become the hamlet's collective restaurant.
