You will work on the restoration of a part of the Vauban Fort, namely the facade of the northern front. Accompanied by a specialised technical supervisor, you will initially be responsible for removing the vegetation from the facade, then for disjointing and repointing with lime mortar. Other traditional masonry work and stonemasonry are planned, which will enable you to familiarise yourself with these techniques. You will work between 5 and 6 hours a day in the morning.
Collective under tent at the campsite*** of Fouras (swimming pool, multi-sports area, WIFI, snack bar...). You must bring your own warm sleeping bag and a pillow. Bicycles will be available for you to use to get around the town. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you will have a food budget which the leaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the camp). You will prepare the meals in turn, especially for lunch and dinner, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as the culture of everyone (hot and cold dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan will be prepared).

Leisure activities: You can enjoy many activities such as the European Heritage Days, fishing and sailing with the local clubs, the beach, seaside bike rides, beach volleyball... You can also visit cities such as La Rochelle and Rochefort. Leisure time and local entertainment will encourage you to meet the locals who are eagerly awaiting you!
Located at the mouth of the Charente, the Fouras peninsula is home to 3 ports and 5 beaches on the Atlantic coast. In an idyllic setting with a view of Fort Boyard, the project will consist of the renovation of the Vauban fort, also known as the Semaphore fort, which is in fact the medieval fortified castle of Fouras. It protected the town from a possible invasion from an enemy landing by the ocean. It is surrounded by 17th century fortifications: platforms, curtain walls and a massive tower. This workcamp is in line with the partnership with the municipality of Fouras and its desire to continue local development actions (also the renovation workcamp on the Fort de l'Aiguille), through the intercultural dynamic allowed by the volunteers.

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
