On the morning of February 24, 2022, most of the citizens of Ukraine woke up to the sounds of missile and bomb strikes of the air and space forces of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the armed forces of Russia crossed the border of Ukraine from the Northern, Eastern and Southern directions. The day became a black date for Ukrainians, after which most of us could not even in our nightmares imagine a Russian-Ukrainian war. Horror and despair among refugees from Ukraine combined with the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian military and citizens - defenders of Ukraine. Such cities as: Bakhmut, Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin, Gostomel, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kherson and others became known to the whole world after the terrible atrocities of the Russians there and the destruction of the civil infrastructure of peaceful Ukrainian cities.Small village of Moschun, which is located in the suburbs of Kyiv, stopped the Russian onslaught at a terrible cost. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, this settlement helped win the battle for the defense of Kyiv.During the occupation, the villagers experienced real hell. Fierce fighting completely destroyed the village, 85 of the buildings in the village were completely destroyed. In the courtyards there were deep wounds from shells, fences were riddled with bullets. In the picturesque settlement with cozy private estates, there is not a living place left, not a single corner that would not be damaged. But after the retreat of Russian troops from the Kyiv region, the village of Moschun began to recover. And that is why our Association initiated an appeal to the local authorities regarding the holding of an international volunteer work camp in this village for the restoration of destroyed and lost objects.

Military state is ongoing in Ukraine at the moment. This means applying some rules of the behavior of citizens and also possible facing certain conditions. All volunteers need to be ready for unpredictable circumstances which can happen (e.g. air raid sirens, attacks, electricity or water outage). However Kyiv and the region is protected the most by air defense, so rocket and drone attacks are repelled in most of the cases. In case of the air raid sirens volunteers will need to go to the shelter. Shelters will be available near the work and living places. An online meeting will be held with all selected applicants to provide information to volunteers about the wartime conditions and answer questions. On the first Monday of the camp, there will be an instruction on sheltering places and safety techniques, all volunteers must sign the instruction list. Each camp applicant needs to provide a copy of his/her international passport for the safety check done by the government security service. Application form and the motivation letter is required.
