Czech village was founded in 1837 by Czechs who immigrated from the Romanian part of Banat (where they came 10 years earlier). At that time there was the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and this area was the so-called Military Krajina, which was the first line of defense against the Ottoman Empire. In 1827, a poor population was sent from the area of the present-day Czech Republic, which settled in the area of the present-day Romanian part of the Banat. Living conditions were extremely bad and difficult and after 10 years the number of inhabitants was halved, so they were given permission to move to this part of Banat. 24 families were settled and each family received arable land in the atar of the village and a plot for a house with a garden in the village itself. In return, each family had to give one soldier/eldest son to fight for the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
The village originally had the name Ablian, between the two World Wars it was called Fabian, and since the 60s of the 20th century it has had the current name – Czech village.
Citizens' association "Czech village" was founded on February 4, 2022. This is a non-governmental and non-profit association, established for an indefinite period to achieve goals in the field of environmental protection, tourism and promotion of Czech cultural heritage. During the first year of the Association's existence, we organized two garbage clean-up actions in and around Czech village, and we also participated in the organization of the eco-camp "Butterfly Observation Weekend". The objectives of the Association are: improvement and protection of the environment, education of citizens, especially children and young people, about the importance of environmental protection and public support for changing habits regarding the use and preservation of natural resources and regarding handling of waste materials. We also work on the promotion of tourism and the historical and natural values of the municipality of Bela Crkva and its surroundings, especially on the promotion of Czech cultural heritage, protection of human rights, advocacy for better living conditions, as well as better information and education of members and other citizens in order to improve the general quality of life .
Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976.
