The main objectives of the Reserve are: -Conservation of the River Quebradas and the source of the water. -Development of an Environmental Education (Conscience). -Creation of several ways of Sustainable Development, giving economical options to the community. -Finally, to be completely auto supported (financially), by eco tourist. The main tasks for Volunteers: 1-Maintenance of green areas and different facilities when it is needed. 2-Infra – structure project (to be confirmed a month before the starting date for the workcamp). The work will depend on the needs at the moment, with this said, the project could be: a-Painting of different areas. b-Building sidewalks and/or trails.
Local Families will be more than happy to receive the volunteers in their houses. Families will supply three meals a day, a room and all their care to the volunteers. Families may be included in some of the activities as well. Vegetarian food will be available. Internet access (Wi-fi) can be limited since not all the families have this service.

Our organization is an active full member of the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE), a federation of more than 40 intercultural and IVS organizations located in the five continents. ICYE Headquarters are placed in Berlin, Germany. The federation of ICYE has been recognized as International Peace Messenger by the United Nations. ACI Costa Rica has developed partnerships with other networks and programs such as: The Committee of Coordination of International Voluntary Service (CCIVS), associate to UNESCO, The Alliance of European Organizations (ALLIANCE), Volunteering Matters from United Kingdom (VM), VolontEUROPE, Weltwärs from the German government, and ERASMUS + from the European Union. The experiences we promote are mainly focused on incoming and outgoing programs, involving long and short-term periods, for groups and individuals. These programs are managed in cooperation with our local Costa Rican networks, partner organizations and communities such as: The Federation of Social Organizations (FOS) and YO ME UNO from the private initiate, and others.
-English or Spanish knowledge may be very helpful to communicate. -A lot of maturity. -Willing to follow instructions and to work as a team. -Willing to do physical work. -Volunteers must like to be in the nature and willing to live in simple conditions, Wi-Fi limited access. -Willing to walk everyday from the hosting community to the natural reserve up in the hills, about 1 hour away by walking one way. So 2 hours per day (round trip).
Things to Bring to Fudebiol:  Mosquito repellent/ after bite cream  Sun block  Rain coat and Umbrella  Closed shoes  Extra shoes (tennis shoes, flip flops)  Walking boots/ hiking shoes  Work clothes (that you don´t mind getting dirty)  We recommend you to bring backpack instead of suitcase.
