The river Gigu bicu crosses 8 communities before reaching the sea. For years, the lack of environmental education, access to information, and the absence of programs to control waste and garbage have caused their contamination. It is fed because the population uses it as a dump and after the 2017 earthquake the debris from fallen houses was placed next to the river. Recuperemos el gigu bicu (Let s recover the gigu bicu) seeks to transform clandestine garbage dumps into fruit tree parks and cultural recreation areas. Attract motivation and love for the river so that the community cares about its rescue.
