The Chiriboga Foundation has supported several families that suffered the total or partial destruction of their homes due to earthquakes or earthquakes of 2016 in the Ecuadorian Coast.
The first part of the work camp takes place in the Province of Esmeraldas, where two black families are supported, their houses are built, they are accommodated in a house located in a poverty-stricken neighborhood, they are fed in several places, the construction What will be done in several stages, we will try to make the foundations of the construction with the help of family members.
The construction will be done with concrete, brick masonry, blocks and wood.
The houses will be 3 rooms, kitchen, bathroom and social area; it will be developed in five phases.
LIFE IN THE RESERVE OF THE PROYECTO CHIRIBOGA
Experience life in the forest, in a private reserve of cloud forest, located in the Ecuadorian Andes. The activities that we carry out in the reserve help us to protect and preserve one of the few remnants of cloud forest.
Organic agriculture: cleaning and care of trees
fruit trees and the construction of an orchard for edible species.
Waste management: create material to perform a proper separation of waste and facilitate its recycling of materials.
Soil restoration: cleaning and maintenance of roads and trails to promote soil conservation. Planting of different plant species in the paddock area.
Protection of water: protection of water sources with native species planted around riverbeds and streams to prevent drought.
Recycling of material: use of materials such as tires, pallets and old wood to build furniture for the use of volunteers.
Help in construction: we frequently improve the infrastructure to make more comfortable the accommodation of the volunteers. This year, our goal is to build more bedrooms for the accommodation of future volunteers and the job is to build the base of the bedrooms.
Subject of study
Raise awareness about the importance of forest conservation and its impact on water protection, through non-formal education and field experience.
The work in the reserve includes working with tools such as shovels and machetes, being in contact with the ground, plants that means being ready to get dirty! And accept manual works that are presented as urgent at the moment.

Afternoons after work are free to do any kind of group activity such as sports, swimming in the river, walking around, or simply enjoy around a campfire.
Fundación Chiriboga is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that has no religious, racial or political conflicts. It is legally constituted by Ministerial Agreement No. 47 of the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador-South America on March 19, 1999.
Our main objective is the protection and environmental conservation, to promote the development of the communities whose activities are related to the environment and the development of the local economy.
Help people become aware of the importance of reforestation and agriculture in the area, with community support, foreign volunteers and the participation of government institutions related to urban conglomerations, the environment, quality of life, equitable relationships between the population and its environment. We feel responsible for the protection of the forests of the Andean mountains that remain, in the province of Pichincha. We are now protecting 300 Has. of primary forest.
The development of the community is one of our objectives, in this area the Chiriboga Foundation preferred education as a way to promote the increase of the academic level in the students of the primary schools of rural areas and urban conglomerations.
