Locatie en vrije tijd

Located in Puebla, Mexico, Calpan is home to an impressive selection of attractions and experiences, making it well worth a visit. Being located in the area of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, the municipality of San Andrés Calpan offers its visitors the enjoyment of nature and its landscapes. In an interview with Notimex, Eladio Espinoza Técuatl, owner of Rancho María Isabel, stressed that this summer, under the pretext of chiles en nogada, is a good season to visit Calpan, located about 40 kilometers from the capital of Puebla, and with the family spend some time together, away from the city. He said that from the ranch you can see the volcanoes and also a whole green area, where you can breathe tranquility and peace, as well as enjoy nature.

Over the last fourteen years, the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) initiative has grown tremendously due to the growing interest in and appreciation for the protection and preservation of World Heritage sites. For the second time, an international volunteer camp will be held in the municipality of Calpan. Among the objectives are to attract more tourism to the region, complement the development actions of this locality, evaluate the tangible and intangible heritage, and highlight the local cultural heritage. Calpan will once again receive national and international volunteers to carry out awareness-raising activities on the importance of preserving local cultural heritage, supporting the preservation of the former 16th century convent on the slopes of Popocatépetl. This project foresees a collaborative work with the managing instances of the patrimony of the state of Puebla.
