ACTIVITIES: Technical workshops during volunteer activities. Visit tomato greenhouses to learn about the process. Visit to Palenque, where we will learn about the distillation of mezcal. Local cooking with families. Visit and entrance to the archaeological zone of Monte Albán. Visit to the town of the alebrijes. Visit to the town of waist looms. And many more activities that will allow you to enjoy and get to know this beautiful region
ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will be accommodated in a house with all basic services. Volunteers need to bring a sleeping bag.
San Juan Lachigalla is a town and municipality in Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 136.51 km². It is part of the Ejutla District in the south of the Valles Centrales Region. As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 3363.
PROJECT: Our project +has the objective of improving access to drinking water and sanitation systems in communities in Oaxaca. This time, we are going to the municipality of San Juan Lachigalla (in Zapotec lachi, rooster 'flat, copal' 'Llano de copal'). Where we will be supporting the design and construction of ecological bathrooms with ferrocement and bioconstruction, as well as the construction of rainwater harvesting systems. These activities will allow us to provide infrastructure that allows families to access water as well as provide sanitation systems with improved facilities through the construction of ecological dry toilets in homes. This camp is part of our formative programs, where you will be learning the different techniques through volunteering.

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van $ 4.500. (Ca. € 223)
