Come contribute to the preservation and development of a newly marked hiking trail, in the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park!
You will help make the “vanilla trail” more accessible and safer for everyone. Supervised by professionals, you will participate in creating steps, installing guardrails, and setting up other amenities to facilitate hikers' passage, while respecting the site’s ecosystem. The work site is a 20-minute walk from the accommodation. A minibus will be available to transport tools and facilitate access. You will then need to walk with some equipment, as the site is only accessible by foot. This may be physically demanding, but everything will be organized to ensure it is accessible to all. No specific skills are required, just a willingness to learn, share, and get involved in a meaningful project.
By joining this project, you will directly contribute to preserving a unique area of the Vercors and ensuring its accessibility for future generations !

You will be accommodated in a communal lodge equipped with multiple beds per room. The lodging will be divided into two apartments within the same building. Remember to bring a sleeping bag.The group will be supervised by an animation team responsible for group life and technical aspects. Together, you will participate in organizing communal life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals, prioritizing local products and vegetarian recipes. Wi-Fi is not available directly at the accommodation, and there is no washing machine.

Located in the Drôme region, in the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans is a picturesque village crossed by the Isère and Bourne rivers. The village is dominated by an impressive 19th-century aqueduct, offering a panoramic view of the Vercors.
For leisure activities, you can embark on a paddlewheel boat for a guided cruise on the Isère, explore the prehistoric Thaïs Cave, or visit the Jardin des Fontaines Pétrifiantes. The surrounding area also offers numerous hiking trails for all levels, allowing you to explore the varied landscapes of the Vercors. These activities will be organized according to the group's interests, with the help of the facilitators, ensuring full immersion in this preserved area where culture and nature harmoniously meet.

The Vercors Regional Natural Park and Concordia have been collaborating for many years, committed to the preservation of the territory. This long-standing partnership allows volunteers from all backgrounds to discover an exceptional region with diverse landscapes, a rich history, and a strong cultural identity. In return, your participation in the workcamps directly supports the park's missions, in collaboration with local municipalities, to protect and enhance these natural areas. Beyond the work carried out on-site, you will have the opportunity to better understand local issues through discussions and activities organized by the PNR and its partners. These moments will explore key topics such as the preservation of natural environments, sustainable agriculture, responsible tourism, renewable energies, mobility, and ecological urban planning.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If there are health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to ESC volunteering teams is subjected to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en
- volunteers do not have to pay any fee (neither sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project and will receive financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established depending on their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets;
- volunteers need to enrol in the PASS, the ESC Portal; then Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
- volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on the basis of 6€/day, once they arrive at the project in France;
- volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal.

It is recommended to bring sturdy, closed-toe work shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Remember to bring a sleeping bag, a fitted sheet, and a pillowcase. Additionally, pack waterproof clothing for walks, as nights can be chilly at higher altitudes; therefore, some warm clothing will be useful. Don't forget sun protection such as hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as well as a water bottle and your swimsuit for potential swimming activities (pools, water activity centers, etc.). Feel free to bring a small item representative of your country or region, as well as a Bluetooth speaker to play your favorite playlist.
Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
