Express your art and take part in a unique international work camp in the heart of Paris. The MIJE association opens the doors of Paris to young people from all over the world, offering them an unforgettable volunteering experience.
Join us this summer as we create an exhibition on peace and furnish the hostel to raise awareness of the rules of community life!
Bring a touch of art to the youth hostel and take part in the display of a participative photo exhibition of a convivial space that spreads peace. You'll be asked to design an exhibition that informs, questions and creates debate on the theme of peace promotion and conflict management, based on images already taken. The mission will also be to inform Auberge guests about the rules of community life.
In addition, you will help to create educational visuals, while raising awareness of the rules of community life within MIJE hostels. Each day will be an opportunity to exchange ideas, collaborate and experience an enriching human adventure, all in a friendly and caring atmosphere.

You'll be staying at the MIJEs youth hostel, in the heart of the vibrant Marais district in non-mixed-sex rooms. You will clean your own rooms. Breakfast is provided by the hostel, as is Wifi. Laundry will be done by hand. For other meals, we've teamed up with TEP (Terre d'Ecologie Populaire), who will give us access to their kitchen 1 day out of 2, where you and the other volunteers will take turns cooking. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you'll be involved in collecting food from organic stores and preparing meals. As far as possible, we will promote vegetarian meals using healthy, local and seasonal produce, while respecting the diets of all participants and helping them discover local gastronomy.

MIJE youth hostels are ideally located in historic Paris, in the heart of the Marais district, renowned both for its rich heritage and as a mecca for Parisian queer culture and second-hand fashion.
To enrich your experience, we've planned a program of leisure activities to help you discover the city from the building peace angle. You'll visit emblematic sites such as the Musée du Quai Branly, the Musée de l'Homme, the Shoah Memorial and the Wall for Peace, to explore the values of living together across history and cultures.

We are pleased to renew this partnership with MIJE (Maisons Internationales de la Jeunesse et de l'Education), an association that gives young people and adolescentᐧeᐧs from all over the world the opportunity to travel to Paris. MIJEs also have an educational mission and have a close partnership with the French Education Nationale. They also organize educational events within their own walls.

MOTIVATION LETTER NEEDED!
This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to ESC volunteering teams is subjected to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en
- volunteers do not have to pay any fee (neither sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project and will receive financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established depending on their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets;
- volunteers need to enrol in the PASS, the ESC Portal; then Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
- volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on the basis of 6€/day, once they arrive at the project in France;
- volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal.

You'll be sleeping in the hostel, but the nights can be cold, so remember to bring warm clothes and closed shoes for the missions in the hostel. We invite you to bring specialties from your country, photos, musical instruments, a Bluetooth device - in short, whatever you like and feel like sharing on this workcamp, whether with the local population or with the group!
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
