In this camp we would like to address the issue of fair working and living conditions and the exploitation of people and nature. Naturefriends were founded many years ago on this basis. On the one hand, you will be working with fellow Naturefriends Egelsbach to renovate a barefoot path and restore a small wooden tepee on the site. While working together, you can also learn a lot about the history and activities of Naturefriends. On the other hand, you will also approach the topic in terms of content in this camp. We want to go on a search for clues in the Frankfurt area with you: Where are there examples from history and how can we protect people and nature and prevent exploitation today in a globalized world? We have planned various excursions for this purpose. Among other things, you will visit the Adlerwerke historical site in Frankfurt: This site commemorates forced labor in Frankfurt am Main during the Nazi era as well as the “Katzbach” concentration camp, which was located in the Adlerwerke from August 1944. Due to current political developments, it is important to us to visit this place of remembrance with you as a place of exploitation. Then we want to look at our current living environment with you and take part in a consumer-critical city tour: Here you will learn more about the global connections between our consumption and its social and ecological consequences. We would like to encourage you to take a critical look at your own consumer behavior and show you alternative consumption and action options. You can then talk about other topics in small discussion groups in your accommodation and perhaps you would like to think about your own project such as upcycling or sharing principles etc. In addition to the intensive exchange and the excursions, there will be enough time to go on excursions during the weekend or to explore Frankfurt in the evenings during the week.
