In general, volunteers will plan and run various activities for kids and the community.

The work includes:
• Plan and carry out English lessons for kids.
• Participate in beach cleaning.
• Clean, organize and prepare an outdoor place, next to the local foundation where there will
be community cinema for children.
• Spend time with children, playing, chatting, and being a role model for them.
• Organize environmental workshops for kids.
• Help out at a public kindergarten with manual work (painting, planting trees, etc.).
Our volunteers work around 4 or 5 days a week (5-6 hours daily), depending on the activities.

*Activities may change according to the total number of participants, weather conditions and other external factors.

Volunteers will stay in shared rooms in a house located just a 10-minute walk from the beach, with views to the sea and the mountain. The house has a spacious kitchen and different common areas like living room, terrace, and a garden. The accommodation has good WiFi connection and provides laundry service twice a week.
The workcamp includes 3 meals a day. The camp leader is in charge of the shopping and volunteers cook together (vegetarian food option also available).
Please do not expect expensive/special ingredients (olive oil, nuts, etc), but the Colombian cuisine is rich in fruits, vegetables and 3x a week there will be meat in the menu.
Transport to the activities is covered by the foundation.

Taganga is located on the northern coast of Colombia, near the city of Santa Marta. It is part of the Magdalena Department and is situated along the Caribbean Sea.
It's a picturesque fishing village situated by the sea, known for its beautiful coastal landscapes and relaxed atmosphere. Taganga is often visited by tourists and travelers who are attracted to its beaches, diving opportunities, and proximity to attractions like Tayrona National Natural Park. It serves as a starting point for exploring the Santa Marta region and enjoying its natural beauty and outdoor activities.

This program will be carried out in collaboration with a non-profit foundation in Santa Marta, which engages volunteers to serve both the community and the environment itself. They undertake impactful projects primarily focused on environmental and social aspects, contributing to making the world a better place for all. With over 5 years of experience, they have been actively promoting
responsible and conscious tourism, not only by showcasing the area but also by transforming it in a positive manner. This is achieved through community engagement, underwater and beach cleanup efforts, hiking activities, waste transformation, and awareness workshops.

Aangezien je in dit project met kinderen gaat werken, stellen wij het verplicht om een VOG (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) aan te vragen.
