Come and discover this new project in La Biolle, a village of 2,900 inhabitants in the heart of Savoie, between lakes and mountains. This charming village wants to create a few convivial areas to welcome locals and tourists alike. You'll be helping to create one of them, clearing the area, building/installing street furniture and landscaping the banks of a stream. You don't need any skills to take part in this project. A good dose of motivation and good mood will enable you to rise to the challenge!

You will be accommodated in individual tents in the courtyard of the primary school. Nearby is the gymnasium where you will use the sanitary facilities and the showers. The gymnasium can also be used as a fallback site in case of bad weather or heatwave. The Ebene multi-purpose hall will be available for you to cook and eat in. There's a supermarket opposite the hall and on Friday evenings there's a farmers' market. Together, you will help to organise community life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take it in turns to prepare the meals, using produce bought locally. As far as possible, we'll be encouraging vegetarian meals using local, seasonal produce, while ensuring that all participants' diets are respected and that local gastronomy is discovered.

La Biolle is a rural commune in Savoie. It is part of the Albanais region, at the foot of the Chambotte massif, 8km from Aix-les-Bains, 25km from Chambéry and 30km from Annecy. This proximity enables La Biolle to attract tourists in all seasons. As close as possible to the site, you'll be able to take advantage of a variety of walks, offering magnificent panoramic views of the Massif des Bauges and the chance to observe the many species of birds that find refuge in the marshes. During your stay, your entertainers can work with the group to organise a swimming trip to Lac du Bourget.

The municipality of La Biolle is a new partner, highly motivated by the idea of proposing a project based on interculturality. Its objective, also shared by Concordia, is to enable young people in the municipality to take part in a work camp with international young people, encouraging intercultural exchanges and civic participation in a project of general interest. La Biolle is a dynamic community, so we have no doubt that its residents will be enthusiastic about the project.
If you're aged between 15 and 17, live in the commune and would like to take part in this work camp, contact Concordia's international work camp coordinator in Rhône Alpes (chantiers.rhone-alpes@concordia.fr). Two places are reserved for local young people to encourage exchanges and encounters.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them personally, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

When working on site, remember to take closed shoes and clothes that are resistant to dirt. The living areas and the site are within several minutes' walk of each other, so there will be frequent journeys on foot. Nights can be chilly, so remember to bring a warm sleeping bag, possibly a ground sheet or additional mattress for your comfort, and a pillowcase (you can put things in it and easily make a pillow). You should also take suitable clothing (fleece, mackintosh, etc.) for your excursions. Don't forget sun protection (hat, glasses, cream, etc.), a water bottle, your swimming costume for swimming (lakes, water sports centres, etc.), a backpack (in addition to your luggage), comfortable trainers and a pair of flip-flops. You'll also need to pack these essential accessories: a mobile phone charger and a headlamp or torch.
Social events will be organised in collaboration with our entertainers, according to your wishes. If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take a little piece of your country or region in your backpack and a small Bluetooth speaker !
On the last day (16/08), the departure time is usually set in the morning.
Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 250.
