Volunteers will collaborate in all Emmaus activities, from recovering materials by going to people s homes, sorting and small fixing, to selling at markets. They will also support the promotion of Emmaus and external external awareness-raising initiatives. The community dedicates approximately 35/40 hours per week to the activity, Wednesdays and Sundays are off.

Volunteers will be housed on the ground floor of the community in 3 rooms with bunk beds. They will have two bathrooms and live community life with the community members including meals in the community canteen.

In their free time, volunteers can visit the city of Cuneo (7 km away) or the city of Turin and trips to the surrounding mountains can be organised.

The Emmaus association and community in Boves (Cuneo) was founded in 1991 thanks to the commitment of young local volunteers after an international Emmaus volunteer camp in the province of Cuneo.The community welcomes people in difficulty who are included in the classic Emmaus activity of recovering, sorting and selling used material.The community is based on the founding values of Emmaus, namely: welcome, community life, work, service and non-violent struggle against the causes of misery and suffering. The community is coordinated by leaders and managed together with the community members themselves. In addition to the community, the Emmaus Cuneo association runs the community s own second-hand market in Boves, as well as two other shops in the town centres of Cuneo and Mondovi in collaboration with around forty volunteers and staff.

Since people with addiction problems may be present in the community, it is forbidden to introduce and/or consume alcohol and/or other types of substances. Volunteers are required to have an interest in the Emmaus themes of social inclusion, non-violence, and commitment to international solidarity.For safety reasons, the wearing of safety shoes, is mandatory during work activities. If you haven t them we will provide them for the duration of the camp.

Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
