The community is located about 117km from Moshi the capital of the region. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Mwika offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and into the lives of the Chagga people who once withstood vicious Maasai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels.
