Embark on a meaningful cultural journey and celebrate Cambodia’s most vibrant festival, Angkor Sangran, as an international volunteer. This exclusive program, a collaboration between Cambodian Youth Action (CYA), the Global Education Center (GEC), and the Cambodian National Youth Center (CNYC), offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Khmer traditions while making a positive impact on the local community.
As part of this program, volunteers will:
1. Participate in the Angkor Sangran celebration by organizing and facilitating traditional games, cultural performances, and hands-on workshops. Volunteers will also help with event preparations, including decorations and welcoming attendees, while fostering cultural exchange in this global celebration.
2. Teach English and engage in cultural exchange by conducting interactive lessons tailored to local students to improve their language skills. Volunteers will also share their own traditions and gain a deeper understanding of Khmer heritage through meaningful interactions.
3. Empower local youth with basic digital skills, such as typing, creating digital materials, and responsible internet use. Additionally, volunteers will support the library by organizing resources and hosting themed reading sessions to promote literacy and inspire learning.
This program provides a unique opportunity to celebrate Khmer New Year while contributing to community development and cross-cultural understanding. Apply now to be part of this unforgettable experience, where culture, connection, and impact come together!

The Global Education Center (GEC), founded by Cambodian Youth Action (CYA) in 2015, is transforming the lives of children and teenagers in Svay Thom, Siem Reap. By offering free programs in English, computer literacy, library access, and skills training, GEC empowers over 150 students annually to achieve personal growth and academic success. Its impact is evident as former students return as teachers and staff, becoming role models for their peers and driving change within their community.
Volunteers are the cornerstone of GEC’s achievements, bringing diverse knowledge, fostering leadership, and encouraging cultural exchange. Through their dedication, students gain essential skills to thrive in a globalized world, broaden their horizons, and aspire to higher education and meaningful careers.
As GEC evolves with new computer courses, an enhanced library, and innovative workshops, we invite volunteers worldwide to be part of this impactful journey. Together, we can shape the next generation of leaders, bridging education with opportunity and inspiration for a brighter future.
