We are transforming an overgrown piece of land and carefully creating a natural garden for the local community called “KeinGarten” in a suburb of Stuttgart.

Together with schools, kindergartens, social organisations and families in the area, we are creating a place where educational nature activities for children, families and garden lovers can be developed.

With an area of 5,500 square metres, located between the Stuttgart districts of Feuerbach and Botnang, it will offer different people in the region a place of peace, connection and growth where they can learn about nature.

The work tasks will consist of:

• Building an enclosure with a picket fence to secure a steep slope
• Preparing the site for a herb garden
• Creating terraces in the terrain
• Constructing pathways and steps
• Maintain the surrounding forest area
• Preparing the land along a path or route called “Brunnenweg”

The accommodation will be simple, sustainable, and close to nature. You will be staying just 1.5 km from the town of Feuerbach, right next to the work site. The accommodation will consist of two big sleeping tents.

Meals will be prepared in an outdoor kitchen, where you will cook over an open fire, embracing the simplicity of camp life. There will be a compost toilet and a private outdoor shower. Please note that there will be no WiFi, so be sure to bring enough mobile data for your needs. Don't forget to pack a sleeping bag and a pillow if desired.

As a group, you will share responsibilities such as grocery shopping and meal preparation, with the camp budget covering the food. Everyone will take turns cooking and maintaining the communal space.

The project site is surrounded by vineyards, fruit gardens, community gardens and hives where there is a very rich diversity of flora and fauna that deserve care and protection.

The surrounding nature is amazing and super diverse which makes it a very good location for recreational activities like hiking, cycling, tracking and other types of outdoor activities.

Sheltered from the wind by forests to the north and southwest, the garden site is facing south-southeast. The views stretch as far as the Swabian Forest and the Swabian Alb. The name 'Hohe Warte' ("high watch" in English) originates from this scenic location.

Although this location makes you feel immersed in nature it is well connected to the city of Stuttgart, making it easy to explore and discover the city on the weekends.

Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
