As part of the work camp, you will help shape the programme and get a good insight into the radio trade. You will learn how to use a reporting device, questioning techniques for interviews and studio technology. You will plan and create your own radio programmes, which you will present yourself. The workshop is led by professional radio editors. Your reports will focus on events from the ‘KulturRegionale 2025’ cultural festival, which takes place in Hildesheim from June to September. You are also welcome to bring along your favourite songs for a music programme!

Accommodation in the parish hall of St Andrew's parish. There you will find a well-equipped kitchen, a small common room for eating and socialising and a large common room for sleeping. You will sleep on air beds. Showers in the public Swimming pool “Wasserparadies”.The recording studio is a 15-minute walk away.

Your accommodation is located in the centre of Hildesheim with its historic market square. There you can chill out on the Citybeach. Outdoor pool and barbecue area at Hohnsensea. Panoramic view from St Andrew's church tower. UNESCO World Heritage Sites St Michael's Church and St Mary's Cathedral. A city walk along the Rose Route takes you to the most beautiful corners of Hildesheim. The game reserve on the Steinberg and the vast landscape of the Osterberg nature reserve are well worth a walk. The capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover, can be reached in 30 minutes by train.

Radio Tonkuhle is the community radio station for Hildesheim and the surrounding area - a participatory radio station! People who want to can contribute their interests and thus create a diverse, colorful round-the-clock program.

The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Good English language skills for the radio workshop. Knowledge of German is helpful for communicating with interview partners in the city. If possible, please also bring a laptop and headphones (or a tablet). These devices will be needed for editing the recordings.

the total fee for teenagers is 495€ as we charge 100€ for teenagers, adults pay 395€ exra fee which is for the study part of the camp

Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.

Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 395.
