The general objective of the Youth Council of Ciciliano is to activate youth participation within local communities. The young group is linked with the municipality to promote the young participation and to bring fresh and creative idea in the community to revitalize the small village. As a group, the Council have already organized ecological days, excursions, and activities for children. The Youth Council of Ciciliano, want to repeat the wonderful workcamp experience of last year. This year the camp will be organized during the seventh of the traditional popular celebrations of Ciciliano. Tourists and visitors will liven up the streets of the town.With this project we would like to immerse the volunteers in the history and tradition of Ciciliano, making them protagonists of the realization of the most important celebrations for the community. We would like this project to be useful to strengthen the sense of community, promote intercultural learning, spread traditional festivals. The workcamp will allow us to meet new people, exchange our experiences and mutual traditions, knowledge of cultural heritage. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: Reduce inequality -SDG10 and Sustainable Communities-SDG11.
WORK: Volunteers will involve in the preparation and execution of the patronal festivals that will be organized during the week and will be concentrated from 16 to 19 August. 1) Festival of “La Panarda”; 2) evening events organized by the Festival Committee; Festival of Santa Liberata.
Volunteers can assist the artistic staff, during the Festival, in setting up and dismantling the stage decorations and in promotional activities. During the workcamps will be organize a big Intercultural Day called 1Table4All where volunteers will be involved in organizing this day of conviviality with the locals, particularly in cooking typical foods from their own countries, with the aim of creating a social moment of contact and intercultural exchange with all the community. Volunteers will work approximately for 5/6 hours per day.
