Volunteers will engage in the project on Academic development: (Assisting children in on their holidays’ home works packages, preparing various competitions aiming to motivate children’s academic development and get ready for the next academic year.); Games:( Indoor and outdoor games that will stimulate learning, team building and activeness. Local games will be introduced as well foreign ones from the volunteers. Please bring new games to share with Kids.); Nature activities: (Bird watching, plant a tree, Tree feeder, learning about various plants, birds, animals, worms, and insects available in the area); Children’s Christmas Bonanza: (Organizing various sports, games and other competitions activities and awarding the children.

Volunteers will be accommodated in a residential house in the community. Expect to share a room with other team members. Volunteers are expected to help in meals preparation, dish washing and kitchen cleaning. Vegetarian meals will be available.

The word "Marangu" means a place with too many water streams. It is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Marangu offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and into the lives of the Chagga people who once withstood vicious Masai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels. Majority of residents are farmers growing bananas, vegetables and coffee. Tourism is also part of activities that contribute to the economy of Marangu. Marangu is located about 40 km east of Moshi town, the capital of Kilimanjaro, it is accessible by both private and public transport. Social services including markets, shops, banks, hospitals are available in the community. Options for leisure activities include: -Wild-life safari: Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Tarangire National parks. There are also various packages depending on your available time and budget like Mount Kilimanjaro climbing, Eco and cultural tourism.

The project “Child space- Children Christmas camp” is an annual initiative aiming to provide a safer space for children to utilize their school holidays during the end of the year in a more constructive way. School holidays; (breaks) do not mean break from activities, and engaging children in fun activities. This project is organized in cooperation with the local community for some time now whereby for two weeks children and volunteers from all over the world are expected to engage in different sports and games, exploring nature, playing and learning in classes. In this way, the children can improve their skills even during Christmas holidays and make up for any deficits in education with extra tuition, but also have fun with their friends.
Aangezien je in dit project met kinderen gaat werken, stellen wij het verplicht om een VOG (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) aan te vragen.

This project is looking for a candidate who has interest to work with teens and children, interest on children development issues, patient and committed, open minded and ready to be challenged, interested in other cultures and local realities, creative and easy to adapt to the situations and prove to have zero record of criminality against children.
Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 250.
